Professionals from across the water sector came together to celebrate a year of success and innovation.
The Institute of Water’s President’s Dinner and Awards – a formal dinner event sponsored by Morrison Utility Services and Morrison Data Services – is the most prestigious social event of the year for its members and partners.
Held on the 21st June, nine awards were handed out to individuals and organisations, who have demonstrated excellence in development, outstanding performance and innovation.
This year the Dinner was hosted by newly-elected President, Douglas Millican, Chief Executive of Scottish Water, and set within the splendour of Glasgow City Chambers.
Guests enjoyed a three-course meal, drinks and entertainment amongst water sector peers, friends and colleagues.
The Institute of Water continued their support of WaterAid by hosting a raffle which raised a fantastic £2225.00 for the charity.
The Institute of Water and WaterAid would like to thank the generous guests and the companies who donated prizes for the raffle; McCrae Training, Morrison Utility Services and Morrison Data Services, Z-Tech Control Systems, Portsmouth Water, CABWI, RPS Group, Linesearchbeforeudig Ltd, Kier Group and Stonbury.
The Awards
The Institute of Water National Innovation Awards, Allen Bolton Award, Outstanding Area Committee of the Year and President’s Cup were presented along with our annual Continuing Professional Development Award and an Outstanding Achievement Award from WaterAid.

The President’s Dinner once again hosted the National Innovation Awards, sponsored by global water, waste and energy management group, Veolia. These awards shine a light on the many innovative companies within the water sector to demonstrate their excellence, and are part of the effort the Institute of Water is making to promote the right cultural environment and encourage pride in the sector.
