Institute of Water are delighted to announce that bookings are now open for their second One Day Environment Conference, taking place on Wednesday 7th November 2018 at One Birdcage Walk in Westminster, London.
Titled ’How can we leave a legacy not a liability?’ and chaired by Vice President Environment, Professor Ian Barker, Managing Director of Water Policy International Ltd, this one day Environment Conference will gather speakers from across the water and environmental sectors.
Ian Barker said “The water sector in the UK is facing unprecedented challenges, now and in the future. This year’s Institute of Water Environment Conference will explore what we need to do for the environment and customers so that we leave a legacy and not a liability.
I’m particularly excited about this year’s Environment Conference and to hear from a broad range of speakers from across the industry including, Rachel Fletcher (Chief Executive, Ofwat), and Harvey Bradshaw (Executive Director of Environment and Business, Environment Agency) who will set out their views on the Water Industry challenges we are facing and what needs to be done to address them. Professor Alastair Driver will throw down the gauntlet on behalf of aquatic ecosystems, and young professionals from around the UK will tell us what they are doing in response.
We will also be joined by Paul Hickey (Deputy Director, Water Resources, Environment Agency) giving his perspective on how we ensure there’s enough water not just for people but also the environment. Finally, Linda Williams (HR Director, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water) and Luke Stanbridge (Commercial Director, Z-Tech Control Systems) will give us their take on what skills we need for the future and what we are doing to develop these. I hope to see you there! “
