Women on Water

British Water held their first Women on Water event via Zoom on 27th July. Delivered in partnership with the Womens Utilities Network (WUN) and the Institute of Water, the event opened with a moving and inspiring keynote address from Rachel Fletcher (CEO, Ofwat) followed by presentations from Hayley Monks (Co-Founder of WUN and Managing Director of Think Inspire and Create) on ‘Your Personal Development Plan’ and Lisa Lloyd (Chartered Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Trainer & Consultant with It’s Time for Change) on ‘Your Mental Health & Wellbeing’. Lisa asked listeners if they were thriving or surviving: good question and relevant not only during lockdown.

Delegates then heard from two Institute of Members: Julie Florey (Biodiversity Delivery Manager at South West Water) and Madelaine Crisp (Project Analyst at Anglian Water). Jules and Maddy shared how they have coped with the pandemic and how they envisage their careers post-lockdown: both had varied and really interesting stories to tell and you can see their presentations here:
