The Society for the Environment Announce Upcoming Release of New Podcast Series

The custodians of the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech) registers, the Society for the Environment, are delighted to announce the upcoming release of a new podcast series, designed to provide insight into the lives of environmental professionals.

The ‘Interviews with Environmental Professionals’ podcasts will see CEnv and REnvTech registrants discuss their backgrounds, career, future ambitions and their views on topical issues. The Environmental Professionals featured in the series reflect the diversity of our registers, showcasing environmental experts from across a variety of sectors and disciplines. Areas of expertise range from air quality to waste management, water to engineering.

Podcasts will be released on the first Wednesday of each month, starting with the launch of the first instalment on the 5th June – World Environment Day. The guest for this podcast will be Professor Jim Longhurst HonFSE CEnv, Professor of Environmental Science at the University of the West of England (UWE), with a primary academic research interest in air quality and carbon management.

Chief Executive of the Society for the Environment, Dr Emma Wilcox, said:

“Our new podcast series showcases the fantastic individuals at the forefront of the environmental profession, and whether you are a current or aspiring CEnv or REnvTech, there is much to learn and discover from the enthusiasm and expertise of those featured.

The focus of the first podcast is timely, as air pollution is the theme of this year’s World Environment Day and features as a discussion topic at the Society’s Awards and Lectures event. The podcast forms part of a campaign to encourage awareness of the dangers of air pollution as well as action to help tackle it. Make sure to visit our dedicated website page https://socenv.org.uk/AirPollution to access lots of great tips and resources for how you can get involved.”
