Anthony Ferrar appointed as Water UK Chairman

Anthony Ferrar has been appointed the new Chairman of Water UK. He replaces Sir Brian Bender who held the role since August 2015.

Anthony previously held the position of Managing Director at SES Water for 11 years before retiring in February 2020. Prior to this he spent 15 years as the Finance Director and Company Secretary of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water plc.

Commenting on his appointment, Anthony Ferrar said:

“This is a crucial time to be joining Water UK. The water industry is playing a key role in the COVID-19 crisis, keeping our water flowing and supporting any customers who find themselves in financial difficulty.

“Elsewhere, the industry is helping to combat climate change through our net zero carbon commitment, as well as stepping up the fight on plastic waste. It’s an industry which has achieved a lot already and has big ambitions for the future, and I’m proud to be able to play my part in helping to lead it forward.”
