Young Professionals’ Network

Joining a professional body can feel overwhelming—but you’re not alone! IWater’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) is here to help you navigate opportunities, build your industry knowledge, and connect with a supportive network of like-minded professionals.

Why get involved?

By engaging with the Young Professionals Network (YPN), you’ll have the opportunity to expand your industry knowledge and stay up to date with the latest developments in the water sector. You’ll also build valuable connections with like-minded professionals, helping you grow your network and advance your career.

Through YPN, you can access a range of career development opportunities, from mentoring and knowledge-sharing to events designed to support your professional growth. Whether you’re working towards professional registration or simply looking to meet others in the industry, YPN is here to help.

There’s no official joining process—just get involved!

Who can get involved?

As an IWater member under 35, you are automatically enrolled in the Young Professionals Network (YPN). You’ll receive updates and opportunities from your local YPN Representative, an IWater volunteer dedicated to supporting young professionals in your area. You’ll also hear from the National YPN, which is made up of local representatives, as well as a National Chair and Vice Chair who help drive YPN initiatives across the UK.

To find out which area you belong to, simply head over to your profile in My IWater.

Hear from our Young Professionals’ Network members:

“I joined the Institute of Water and Young Persons’ Network to learn more about the water sector, build meaningful relationships, promote Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and have fun whilst doing all of this. Happy to say, I’ve made significant headway with all my goals – really grateful to IWater and the YPN for all my growth!”

Abu Rashid, Market Improvement Lead and EDI Lead at MOSL

“I am elated to be part of an organisation which offers an open access to professional development for everyone within the water industry. As the new Young Persons’ Network Vice Rep, I’m honoured and thrilled to represent young professionals within the water community. I look very much forward to making every voice heard and implementing actions to help boost YPN’s careers.”
