Welcome to the South West Area of the Institute of Water!
South West Area
We are one of eight Institute of Water area committees. We are all volunteers who work in the water sector.
We use our professional experience to develop events and activities to support IWater members in South West Area; helping them to do their day jobs, advocate for the sector and improve the environment and lives of their communities.
Any of our committee members would be happy to talk to you about the benefits of getting involved with IWater.

Pride in the South West Award
Do you know someone who’s making a real difference in the South West through their work in the water sector and deserves recognition?
The Pride in the South West Award, launched in April 2022 in memory of Dr. Stephen Bird, celebrates individuals passionate about water who’ve made a positive impact in their South West community.
Nominations for the 2026 award are now open until 31st October 2025. A panel of judges will select the winner from all entries received.
