LAUNCHING JUNE 2020
The Institute of Water and ITN Productions Industry News are producing a news and current affairs-style programme, “Our Water: Our Future” launching in June 2020.
The Institute of Water, the only professional body that exclusively supports the careers of anyone working in the UK water sector, and ITN Productions Industry News will be co-producers of the programme designed to raise awareness and understanding of the vital role of the water industry.
Home to a successful water industry, the UK delivers 16.6 billion litres of high-quality water every day to 63.9 million people. Those working in the industry are often the unsung heroes, working around the clock to protect the integrity of the water industry by ensuring world-leading water-resource management solutions standards across the UK.
“Our Water: Our Future” will explore the exciting and integral work taking place within the water industry today. The programme will examine how the industry is addressing some of the key challenges and opportunities crucial to a successful future including climate change, increasing population growth, tightening of environmental standards, ageing assets, emergence of new smart technologies, cyber security and sustainability. The programme will also explain the importance and relevance of water conservation methods to reduce unnecessary water usage.
Anchored by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, OBE, “Our Water: Our Future” will combine key industry interviews, news items and sponsored editorial profiles and will launch at The Institute of Water’s Annual Conference in June 2020 with a special showcase to be shown at Utility Week Live 2020 at the NEC, Birmingham on 19th-20th May 2020. The programme will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring IOW members and professional partners.
