Make a difference – your opportunity to develop the Environmental Management System for IWater

We know that water is precious, and much of what we do at the Institute for Water is about reinforcing how we can reduce harmful human impacts on the water environment. But we also need to think about our own environmental impact as an organisation, and so we want to develop an Environmental Policy and Environmental Management System (EMS). This will identify our significant environmental impacts, such as energy and water use, travel and production of waste, and what we need to do to monitor, control and reduce them. This will also help us to ensure that we are compliant with legislation and codes of good practice.

Would you like to take the lead in developing our EMS?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done one before – we can guide you through the steps and work with you to identify the risks and opportunities for IWater. It should take about three or four days of your time in total between now and Christmas, and is a unique professional development opportunity.

If you are interested, please email info@instituteofwater.org.uk with a brief CV and explain why you should be the person to develop our EMS.

The closing date for applications is 21st September 2018. We look forward to working with you!

Best wishes

Ian Barker
