Claire Pollard – Vice President Science
Senior Water Quality Reporting Scientist, Southern Water
Claire has worked in the UK water industry for over 25 years, 20 years of which were with the Drinking Water Inspectorate where she gained experience in all areas of the regulation of drinking water quality. In the last 7 years, she has managed drinking water quality teams in both Anglian Water and in Thames Water, responsible for delivering regulatory requirements, and developing drinking water policy and strategy. She is a member of the UK Water industry Lead strategy board and chairs the associated Lead steering group.
She has a BSc in Marine and Freshwater Biology, an MSc in Microbiology and a LLB degree in Law and has been a Chartered Scientist with the Institute of Water since 2013. She is an assessor for all levels of Professional Registration with the IW and has supported the assessment of Scientists for the Science Council.
