Are you an early career working in the water industry or academia? Are you interested in providing solutions to the big water-related challenges ahead of us? Do you want to contribute to a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive water sector? Then the ‘Early Career People in Water Conference 2022’ is the perfect event for you!
This conference aims to provide a platform for early career researchers and young professionals, particularly from under-represented groups, to share and promote their work and experience in Water. The conference will take place at Cranfield University on 16th and 17th November 2022 and will bring together young professionals and researchers in the water science and engineering sectors. We will debate key issues to advance our knowledge and stimulate innovation and discuss ways forward for successful careers in the water and allied sectors.
The programme includes site visits, keynote speeches, plenary, and parallel sessions with presentations from early career professionals, and a panel discussion on how to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the water sector. This, along with networking breaks and stands showcasing the work of water-related associations and networks, will provide an up-to-date understanding of the human, scientific and technological basis for future developments in the water sector from a diverse early career perspective.
Our inspirational keynote speakers Professor Katrina Charles and Dr Piers Clark will discuss their projects, career development and how we can work towards a more diverse and inclusive water sector. Professor Katrina Charles is specialised in Environmental Health Risks at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. Dr Piers Clark is the founder and chairman of Isle Utilities.
You can contribute with a presentation or a poster by submitting an abstract before the deadline on 7th September 2022. You can find the submission options on the conference website. All accepted abstracts will be published in a Conference Proceedings Book available with open access on Cranfield University’s institutional repository, CERES.
